My recent travels
It's early in the game, at the start of 2008. Last fall I did an Alaska cruise, up to see the glaciers and the icebergs while they're still around there. Didn't meet any winsome, doomed polar bears -- we didn't sail that far north -- but I did meet Gretchen, and Naomi, and Priscilla... after all, it was a nine-day cruise! Lived it up earlier in 2007, in Costa Rica -- man, those rainforests are something else! And the women! Chiquitas, every one, and very happy to make me happy. What a country. And even though they're watching species go extinct (some slowly, some fast), there's some serious life in the clubs! I also went to New Orleans, just to get a sense of what happens when governments ignore their responsibilities, and citizens idiotically build where nature is sure to tread. NOLA was cool -- something about the smell of old piss and spilled beer on Bourbon Street acts as an aphrodisiac to certain women. The denizens would point out high-watermarks, and tell you where to go. Went bowling in a weird second-story bowling alley, the first floor of which was useless from the flood. A live band played. You could see the waterline mark as you walked up the stairs. Women there are giddy with delight -- as if they want to party like it's 1999. Pix to come -- right now I'm having too much fun in Jamaica! Get rich. Get laid. Make hay.
